References to Philadelphia in the Works must be prefaced with Revelation Ch. 3 where three churches are described, Sardia, Philadelphia and Laodicea. Philadelphia there is the sixth church of astonishments, the one to be spared the hour of temptation that shall come on all the world. We put it in the KJV only because it creates a barrier to consciousness put that way, for the barrier of understanding is much greater:
7To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;

Lest we have to take up all the churches together, which have preoccupied hundreds of thousands of expository minds, maybe if made to, but here are the references in the works:
